Theta blockchain is designed to address the challenges facing the video streaming industry today. First, the project uses Theta token as a rewarding mechanism that encourages users to share idle computer memory and bandwidth resources and become a caching node for video streaming media. This approach can to some extent address the major bottleneck of traditional streaming media distribution networks (CDNs), the so-called "last mile" distribution problem. Second, when the number of caching nodes is sufficient, most users can grab streaming media from peer caching nodes, thereby reducing the bandwidth cost of content distribution networks and reducing the operating costs of major video streaming websites. Finally, Theta tokens can be made to streamline the streaming media market by decentralizing them.
