In line with Polygon's decision to deprecate Polygon zkEVM, Bitfinex will be discontinuing support for deposits and withdrawals of bridged Tether USD (USDt) and Tether Gold (XAUt) tokens on the Polygon zkEVM blockchain.

 

Key Dates and Actions:

• Deposits and Withdrawals: Deposits and withdrawals of bridged Tether USD (USDt) and Tether Gold (XAUt) on the Polygon zkEVM blockchain will be permanently closed on October 8, 2025, at 6 am UTC.
  
  

• Warning: Any deposits sent after this time will be lost and unrecoverable.

 

USDt on Polygon is a bridged asset on the Polygon blockchain. USDt-Polygon-zkEVM and XAUt-Polygon-zkEVM are bridged assets on the Polygon zkEVM blockchain. USDt on Polygon and USDt-Polygon-zkEVM are not issued by or redeemable with Tether. XAUt-Polygon-zkEVM is not issued by or redeemable with Tether Gold. Bridged versions of Tether tokens are third-party services and technology within the meaning of Tether’s Terms of Service and Tether Gold’s Gold Token Terms of Sale and Service. 

Bitfinex customers are still able to deposit and withdraw XAUt on the Ethereum blockchain, and USDt across 14 blockchains. This includes Avalanche, Ethereum, Liquid Network, Polygon*, Tezos, Tron, Solana, Polkadot, the Near Network, Cosmos, Celo, The Open Network, Aptos and Kaia. 

*As previously announced, Bitfinex will migrate support from USDt on Polygon into USDT0 on Polygon on October 8, 2025. USDT0 is available on Bitfinex, also on the Ink, Optimism and Arbitrum One blockchains.
